Prometheus (originally founded as Project Prometheus) is a high-profile, heavily funded artificial intelligence startup. It is co-led by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and scientist Vik Bajaj. Launched in November 2025, the company is dedicated to building what it calls an "Artificial General Engineer"—a physical AI system engineered to automate and optimize the design, prototyping, and manufacturing of complex hard goods like automobiles, spacecraft, semiconductors, and drug molecules.
